Hi,

I'd just like to comment on how great magpie models are! I received my first two yesterday, the chestnut Hunter and the little grey foal.

I've been collecting model horses for 4 years now but your prices are excellent. The chestnut Hunter looks very like my loan pony Chocolate. There's picture of my two models and Chocolate on my Magpie site if you want to have a look... www.geocities.com/

Great to see magpie up and running again,

Regards

Mia

Thank you so much, I got them this morning! They're wonderful; I'd forgotten how nice they were. And the Shetland, too :) Thank you, he's ace! I shall get a cheque off to you, tomorrow morning if my cheque book arrives, which it should have done before now, evening post if it hasn't and I need to beg another from someone else :)

Thanks again!

Best wishes,

Erin (far too excited about painting them now!)

Hello,

Well, I finally finished them! Sort of... I made a start on hairing the donkeys and then got bored and realised they probably looked better without anyway! I thought you might like to see what they're getting up, so I've attached some photos (a bit blurry but the light seems to go so early now!). Thank you ever so much! I had great fun experimenting with the Shetland - he's got a whole new face! The painting's a little blotchy but just don't look at that... Anyway, thanks again :) And thanks for the catalogue, I think I'll be stapling it to my Christmas list!

Best wishes

Erin

Thank you for the e-mail. I haven't got the catalogue to hand as my only access to a computer is at work, but no, by 'flock' I actually meant the slightly fuzzy fabric finish you sometimes see on the cheaper children's model ponies such as those imported from china. From memory, I think the catalogue actually called them a 'furry finish', and the illustrations do make those models appear slightly bulkier, as though a plastic model has a coating of fabric stuck over it. I could send you a copy of the catalogue if you have not actually got one. Let me know if you want it.

Great news about the Shetlands - I shall keep an eye out for them appearing, as they are one of my favorite breeds. How about a whole series of our native breeds, eventually!

Best wishes,

Susan

I was pleased to receive my first order of models this week - a Welsh pony and foal and an Arab and foal. Years ago I had a black Welsh dream pony and its foal, and I don't know what happened to them, but since I started collecting model horses I have regretted parting with them, so it was nice to get some more. I discovered that you had restarted the business purely by accident looking at the internet for model horse sites.

I still have one of the old catalogues from Swallow Horsetoys, and notice that their range also included some sweet-looking Shetland ponies and also flock covered versions of the models. Have you any plans to start producing either of these again?

Please could you add me to your e-mail list for news? I tried to do it via your website, but I don't think it succeeded!

Both of my new models have their manes falling to the near side, like your website pictures, but different to the pictures in the catalogue. If I want to purchase a model with the mane on the more common off side, do I need to specifically order this, or are all your models now done with manes to the nearside?

Best wishes for the success of the business.

Susan

Jan,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly and for your help, that's really good of you! I have been a magpie collector for some 15 years now and its great that they're back for me to spend all my 'pocket money' on! Hope you enjoying running the place!

Thanks again,

Hazel

Dear Jan

Dear Jan,

You really are a star! Thank you so much for all you have done for me and my very lucky children. They are both boys and have two superb ponies; yes, you've guessed a piebald and a dapple grey which they do mounted games on!! Soon they will have models of themselves and the equipment to play and practice with... what more could I wish for!?

Thank you for going ahead with my instructions for payment and as requested, I will keep my fingers crossed!!

Merry Christmas to you and all at Magpie Models.

Kindest regards,

Carolyn

Dear Jan,

The Dapple Grey pony model arrived this morning... It is beautiful and we could not be happier! Thank you for all you have done to ensure that my family has a wonderful Christmas and I can't wait to see my children's faces on Christmas morning!!

Thankfully, I can uncross my fingers now and get on with some present wrapping!!!

Wishing you and your staff a very Happy Christmas and all the very best for the coming New Year.

With Kindest Regards,

Carolyn

Dear Jan,

The recent purchases went down very well for Easter and my son was very impressed with the sweat rug which he puts on his piebald pony after a good session with the gymkhana games. I would think they should sell well and they certainly are a good fit. I would imagine you would offer them in a variety of colours?

Thank you very much for your kindness.

Sincerely,

Carolyn
